Step 1: Someone comments your keyword
When a follower comments your trigger word (like "SPRING," "GUIDE," or "HOLIDAY"), that's your cue to reach out. If you're using ManyChat, it can automatically send them a DM to kick things off — but even without automation, you can do this manually by checking your comments and replying for commenters to "Check your DMs!" and DMing anyone who responded.
Step 2: DM them and ask for their email address ⭐
This is the most important step. Before you send anything, reply to them in a DM and ask for their email address so you can deliver the guide directly to their inbox.
Keep it warm and simple:
"Hey [Name]! What's the best email address to send it to?"
Getting their email is what moves them from a follower to a contact in your database. Don't skip this step!
Step 3: Send them the guide
Once you have their email, you have two easy options:
Email it directly — Attach the guide as a PDF and send it to their email address. Most email providers (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) make this simple.
Send a Canva view link — If your guide lives in Canva, you can share a view-only link directly in the DM or via email.
Step 4: Add them to your email database
After you send the guide, add their name and email to your email list. If you're using an email platform (Flodesk, Mailchimp, etc.), add them to your main newsletter list or a specific lead magnet segment. If you're not using a platform yet, even a simple spreadsheet works as a starting point — the important thing is that you're capturing the contact.
Step 5: Make sure they're receiving your emails going forward
The guide gets them in the door — your email newsletters are what keep them connected to you over time. Once they're in your database, make sure they're added to your regular nurture sequence so they continue hearing from you.
