ManyChat automation allows your audience to comment with a specific keyword and instantly receive a link to your landing page or lead magnet.

Step 1: Sign Up and Connect Your Account

  1. Go to ManyChat and sign up for a free account.

  2. Connect your Facebook Business Page or Instagram Business Account (depending on your automation goals).

  3. Authorize the necessary permissions to allow ManyChat to access your account data.

Step 2: Set Up a New Automation

  1. Navigate to the "Automation" Tab in the ManyChat dashboard.

  2. Click on “+ New Automation” to start creating a new automation.

  3. Select the template you want to use. We recommend Auto-reply to comment in DM.

Step 3: Customize the template

  1. ManyChat will open a 3 step flow editor. Hover over the final stage in the flow and delete, we just need a 2-step process: User comments = automatic DM with link

2. Click on the first box titled "user comments on your post or reel" to customize.

3. Follow the steps provided. Choose which post or reel you want to use in the automation. We typically select "next post or reel" so the automation is triggered as soon as the post is live.

4. Click continue and add your call to action keyword. This is what will trigger the automation. For example: comment "St Pete" below and I'll send you the guide!

5. Click continue once more and pick a comment response or customize a new one. This is what will automatically respond to each comment in the post (In addition to an auto dm).

Step 4: Customize The Auto Message

  1. Move to the second box in the flow and click to customize the message you want to automatically be sent to those who comment your keyword.

Instead of adding buttons we recommend providing a link in the text box to your lead magnet.

Step 5: Publish Your Flow

  1. Once you’ve set up your flow, click Preview to test the automation and ensure everything works smoothly.

  2. If you’re satisfied with the flow, click Publish to make it live.

Step 6: Test and Monitor

  1. Test the automation yourself to see how it feels from the user’s perspective.

  2. Monitor the flow’s performance in the Dashboard to see how users interact with it.

  3. Make adjustments as needed based on user feedback or to improve the experience.

By following these steps, you’ll create an effective ManyChat automation that engages users, collects valuable information, and helps guide them toward your goals.
