How to Set up a Landing Page + Deliver a Lead Magnet in FloDesk

Many of our social media templates suggest offering a free lead magnet (like a guide or checklist) in exchange for a viewer’s email. Here’s how to set it up in FloDesk.


What is a Lead Magnet and Landing Page?

A lead magnet is a free, valuable resource (think: home buyer guide, relocation guide, or seasonal guide—available in Coffee & Contracts). A landing page (or form) is a simple web page that collects emails in exchange for your lead magnet.

How To Create a Landing Page & Deliver a Lead Magnet in Flodesk

Step One: Choose Your Lead Magnet

  1. Browse the lead magnets in the Coffee & Contracts Content Vaule.

  2. Choose a lead magnet that your ideal client would find valuable.

  3. Customize the design in Canva.

  4. Download ALL pages of the lead magnet as "PDF Standard".

Step Two: Set up your Landing Page

Most C&C lead magnets already have a Flodesk landing page template created for you. Access the landing page template in the instructions section of the lead magnet on the C&C website.

🤔 What if the lead magnet I selected doesn't have a landing page template?

How To create a Flodesk Landing Page from scratch:

  1. Access our form template. (Note: The word "form" and "landing page" is used interchangeably.)

  2. Click Start designing now to begin editing.

  3. Customize the landing page. Update the copy to reflect the lead magnet you are promoting. Leave the photo as-is, or choose a new one from the C&C stock library. Free stock images are also available at Unsplash.com or Dupephotos.com.

4. Click Settings (top right) and under "Choose segments," start typing to create a new segment for this lead magnet (e.g. "Home Buyer Guide").

5. Click Share. ⭐️ This is the link to your landing page – promote it! People who complete this form will be added to your email list to receive your lead magnet.

Step three: Deliver the Lead Magnet

Most lead magnets already have a Flodesk workflow template created for you. Access the template in the instructions section of the lead magnet on the C&C website.

To create a workflow from scratch:

  1. In Flodesk, click Workflows > New Workflow > Start from scratch. Name the workflow.

  2. Click "Add trigger". Choose the option "Begin workflow when a subscriber is added to segment(s)" and select the segment you just created.

  3. Create your lead magnet delivery email

    1. Hover your mouse over the vertical line between Trigger and Exit

    2. Select the + icon

    3. Select Email > Create new email > Start from scratch

    4. Name the email "[Lead magnet] delivery email"

    5. Customize the delivery email

  4. Add your lead magnet to the email

    1. Option 1 - Recommended if the lead magnet file size is under 10 MB

      1. Click the Click Here button.

      2. On the right column, click Link > Click File

      3. Click Upload file > Upload your lead magnet (PDF file)

    1. Option 2 - Recommended if the lead magnet file size is over 10 MB

      1. In the top-left corner, click the New button

      2. Upload your lead magnet (PDF)

      3. Copy the View Link

        1. Right-click on the uploaded file and select Get Link.

        2. In the sharing settings popup: Set the access to Anyone with the link is a Viewer (not Editor).

        3. Click Copy Link to save the URL to your clipboard.

        4. Paste the link to the lead magnet within the body of your email as a hyperlink or add a button element. To add a button, hover your mouse over the text box > Select the + icon > Select Button. Paste the link to your lead magnet.

  5. Review & Set Live

    1. Select Finish (top right)

    2. Add a subject line and preview text to your email.

      1. Example subject line: "Your [lead magnet] is here!"

      2. Example preview text: "Access it now"

    3. Select Publish to set this email workflow Live. Now, anytime someone submits their contact information to your form, they will receive this email with your lead magnet.
