Part 1: Posting a Carousel
Step 1: Download your design from Canva
Open the Canva app on your phone (download it from the App Store or Google Play if you haven't yet — it's free).
Log in with the same account you use on your computer.
Tap Your Designs and find the design you just finished.
Tap the share icon in the top right corner and select Download.
Select PNG as the file type.
Make sure all your slides are selected before downloading — Canva saves each one to your camera roll as a separate image.
Step 2: Open Instagram and start a new post
Tap the plus icon to start a new post.
Tap the first image you want to use.
Tap the stacked squares icon in the bottom right corner of the image to switch to multi-select mode.
Tap each slide in the order you want them to appear.
Tap Next twice to get to the caption screen.
Step 3: Add your caption
There's no wrong way to get your caption onto your phone — use whatever fits your workflow:
Open C&C on your phone browser and copy it directly from there.
If you're on a Mac and iPhone with Handoff turned on, copying on your desktop automatically syncs to your phone clipboard.
Paste it into Apple Notes on your desktop and grab it from your phone.
Paste it into Canva notes and grab it from the Canva app when you're ready to post.
Step 4: Final touches before you post
Add your location to help with discoverability.
Tag any local businesses or people featured in the post for additional exposure.
Add music if you'd like.
When everything looks good, tap Share and your post is live!
Part 2: Posting a Reel
Step 1: Find your Reel template
Go to your C&C content calendar and find the Reel template you want to use.
Tap the Open Link button — this opens the template directly on Instagram.
Tap Made with Edits, which will open the template in the Edits app.
Don't have the Edits app? Download it now — it's free and it's what we recommend for all Reel templates.
Step 2: Set up your Reel in the Edits app
Tap Use Template.
Drop in your video clips in the order you want them to appear — the timing is already set up for you.
To edit the text hook, tap the purple banner to highlight the text box, then double-click to edit. Update it with your city, state, or any custom text, then tap Done.
The audio is already added for you.
Tap the play button to preview your Reel.
When you're happy with it, tap Next and share it to Instagram.
Step 3: Add your caption
Go to your C&C dashboard and copy the caption for this post.
Paste it into Instagram before you hit share.
Step 4: Choose how to post
You have three options:
Post manually — goes live right now. Best for timely content like event posts or market updates, especially when you're around to engage with comments.
Save as draft — Instagram holds everything but doesn't publish it. Great if you want to give it one more look before it goes live.
Schedule (requires a Professional or Creator Instagram account) — scroll down on the post screen, tap More Options, and toggle on Schedule this Reel. Select the date and time you want it to go out.
Just getting started? Post manually the first few times until the process feels comfortable. Then start scheduling a week ahead so your content goes out consistently without you having to think about it every single day.
