Setting Up Your Brand Kit in Canva

A step-by-step guide to setting up your Canva Brand Kit — including adding your brand colors, fonts, and logo — so everything is ready to use every time you customize a C&C template.

Written by Nola Gehring

Setting up your Canva Brand Kit means your colors, fonts, and logo are always ready to go every time you customize a template — no more hunting for your hex codes or scrolling through fonts.

Step 1: Open the Brand Hub

  • From your Canva homepage, look at the left sidebar and click Brand (or click the brand icon).

  • Click the dropdown menu, then click Create New Brand Kit.

  • Name it something simple like "Personal Brand."

Note: If you're on Canva Pro, you'll have full access to everything below. If you're on the free plan, you can still follow along for the colors section — see the fonts section for your options.

Step 2: Add Your Brand Colors

  • Inside your Brand Kit, click on the Brand Color section.

  • Click Add New Color to open the color picker.

  • Type your hex code directly into the hex field at the bottom. (A hex code is the six-character code that represents your exact color — ask your broker if you don't have yours yet.)

  • Hit Enter to save the color.

  • Repeat for each of your brand colors until your full palette is complete.

Tip: If you're using one of C&C's templates as a starting point, click on a color in the template, open the color picker, and copy the hex code from there to bring it into your brand kit.

Step 3: Add Your Fonts

If you're on Canva Pro:

  • Click the plus sign in the fonts section to upload a custom font from your computer.

  • Locate your font files, select them, and click Confirm and Upload.

  • Once uploaded, they'll be accessible from the design editor anytime.

If you're on the free plan (or using fonts already in Canva's library):

  • Click on the text type you want to assign (Title, Heading, or Paragraph).

  • Click Choose a Font and search for the font name.

  • Select it and click Save.

  • Repeat for each text type.

Step 4: Add Your Logo

  • Click on the Logos tab inside your Brand Kit.

  • Click the plus sign, then Upload Files.

  • Select your logo from your computer.

  • Your logo will now be accessible directly from the design editor.

Step 5: Use Your Brand Kit in a Template

  • Open any template in the design editor.

  • In the left sidebar, click the Brand icon and find the brand kit you just created.

  • Your colors, fonts, and logo are all right there and ready to use.

Want to apply your brand to the whole design at once?

For colors:

  • Click the Shuffle button to cycle through different color combinations from your brand palette.

  • When you find one you like, click Apply to All Pages.

For fonts:

  • Click on any text box, go to the font menu, and select your brand font.

  • Click Change All to apply it to every text box in the design at once.
